Thursday’s Peloton Ride and Other News.

Today’s Peloton ride

Today’s Peloton ride took me through Canberra Park, Australia.

I was just telling you yesterday that the Peloton scenic rides usually left much to be desired but this one was a very pretty ride!

I wish all the scenic rides were so pretty!

I usually walk with my friend, Kelli, on Thursdays but last Thursday was so hot that I had a stomach attack and it ended up lasting all of Thursday evening, all of Friday and even some of Saturday.

Since there was nothing obvious that caused the stomach attack last week, other than possibly walking in 90 degree weather, I thought it was better to not take a chance today.

So, instead of walking for 30 minutes, I did 15 minutes on the Peloton.

Because of my knee problems, I’m working my up slowly to longer times and faster speeds on the Peloton.

I’m hoping that by taking it extremely slowly, I’ll get my knees used to riding and be able to increase my time, resistance and speed.

Today, I pushed it a little bit by riding for 15 minutes(instead of 10) at 29 to 30 cadence (speed) with a resistance of 15.

What I listened to

Yesterday, I listened to Seals and Croft, Summer Breeze for my entire ride and it was very easy to keep my pedaling slow and consistent.

Today, I started with Ed Shereen’s “Castle on the Hill”, then went to “Supermassive Black Hole” by Muse and ended my ride with Seals and Croft’s “Summer Breeze.”

Ed Shereen’s “Castle on the Hill”

It was definitely more difficult to not just pedal as fast as possible with Castle on the Hill (because it makes me feel so happy) and Supermassive Black Hole (because it just makes me want to put the pedal to the metal, as the saying goes), so I had to work at staying on target.

Summer Breeze also makes me feel extremely happy but it’s an easier song to stay on target with.

Birthday news

In other news, I made reservations for my up coming birthday dinner in August.

I was really putting it off because I have a lot of guilt over certain people that will not be able to attend but friends have been asking if my reservations have been made yet.

So, I finally made them and now I’m starting to feel a little excited about it!

I have a tendency to go over board with party planning but I’m determined to keep it very simple this year for various reasons.

I wanted to use cotton candy for my party favor this year but I am afraid that most adults would not want cotton candy. After discussing it with Erum, I’ve decided to go with Rock Candy instead.

I can use the rock candy in either rainbow colors or I can pick one color.

Rock candy is simple, pretty and less expensive than the cotton candy.

Also, instead of a big fancy cake, I think I’ll use professional cup cakes. That way, I can buy exactly what is needed and not have a lot of left over cake, which no one ever wants because everyone is always watching their weight – which is just how it is once everyone hits a certain age. Sigh

What we’ve been watching

Last night we finished watching Hotel Portofino, which I really loved!

Hotel Portofino

The location was just gorgeous and the actors and actresses did a great job.

Anna Chancellor is an all time favorite of mine, so between her being in the series and the beautiful location, watching it was a no-brainer.

I just really needed a break from all of the murder mysteries we usually watch and wasn’t ready to start Stranger Things, which I know will be terrifying or Peaky Blinders, which I expect to be bloody.

Hotel Portofino was just so beautiful.

We had hoped it would be easy-going like The Durells of Corfu.

As far as the scenery, they were similar but Hotel Portofino had more peril and who-done-it, without being a murder mystery.

Although, we’ve gotten so used to watching murder mysteries that in certain scenes, we would say, “Oh no! Someone’s going to die!” But they didn’t! Lol

I really wasn’t ready for season 1 to end but at least we have been promised a season 2!

You can watch Hotel Portofino on Amazon.

Murdock Mysteries

We are working our way through season 15’s episodes of Murdock Mysteries very slowly!

Normally, we would wait for the entire season to upload but I just couldn’t wait any longer, so we started just watching 1 or 2 episodes at a time, depending on their rate of release.

You can watch Murdock Mysteries on Acorn TV, which we get through Amazon.

Murdock Mysteries is based on a series of novels by Maureen Jennings.

The season seems very different this year and we are not sure why but there certainly seems to be more blood than in previous seasons.

Endeavor

I talked about Endeavor a few days ago.

We finished this season of Endeavor right before we started Hotel Portofino.

Endeavor seemed different this season as well, especially the last episode.

As you know, I’m a scaredy-cat and it is a murder mystery, so there is always suspense. However, I definitely did a lot more clutching Jason’s hand and screaming during the last episode than usual. Even for me, to the point that Jason asked if he should turn the show off. Lol

What to watch next?

So, with Hotel Portofino and Endeavor finished for the season, we’ll have to find something else to watch tonight.

I hope you check out some of these shows.

If you do, let me know!
