Crappy Art

A couple days ago, on Instagram, I came across @thenellyedwards and her #crappyartclub. I was intrigued, so I read her post.

She started the club because her son’s art teacher told him that his art wasn’t good enough and ripped it up!

I was appalled and outraged by this.

I have been very lucky that I have always been encouraged in my artist endeavors but not every work of art can be perfect.

We are all human; we have bad days, we try new things that don’t work out, there’s expectation vs reality…

what’s important is that we TRY…

So, inspired by @thenellyedwards, I am posting a crappy work of art of my own!

I painted this months ago, hated it, was ashamed of it and hid it away.

About a week ago, I came across it again and realized that despite it being crappy as hell, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.

In fact, I love it so much that I framed it and hung it on a wall! Lol

So, here’s to crappy art!

Here’s to being brave enough to try!

and Here’s to @thenellyedwards!

Thanks Nelly!!
