Young Woman Wearing Pink Jewelry

I am often nervous to paint jewelry.

Because of this, I decided to try out some jewelry, as well as a more colorful background.

In the end, she reminds me of Disney’s Pocahontas, which was a huge favorite of mine when it came out.

I started with a background color of neon pink on a cradled wood panel instead of the pale pink decoupage that I’ve been using.

I really like the way her big pink earring turned out.

I used a thick application of small pale pink squares to denote stones on her headband.

I love her pink cheeks.

Background colors are Holbein Acrylic Gouache in D069, Ice Green, for the border.

The left side of the background is a mix of Turner Acryl Gouache Marine Blue, Pastel Marine, and a little Titanium White.

The right side background is Turner Acryl Gouache Dandelion.

The border is painted with a vine in Turner Acryl Gouache Fresh Green with little dot buds of Turner Acryl Gouache Lumi Rose.

For the pink stones, I used Turner Acryl Gouache Pastel Rose with a touch of Ivory Yellow on the headband and also some Holbein Acrylic Gouache in D013/Pale Pink.
