Thanksgiving is supposed to be a time to be thankful and be with family…
but for many, between hectic lives and families being spread out over multiple states, that isn’t always possible.
For me, add to that, that Thanksgiving is just a few days after the anniversary of my father’s death, and Thanksgiving (and Christmas) are a very difficult time.
This year, we started out with a Plan A, and somehow, ended up on Plan D! Lol
Plan C was to quietly hide at home, leisurely cook a tiny turkey and a few sides and then watch all the Daniel Craig – James Bond movies that I’ve never seen.
Sounds great, doesn’t it? Lol
But a friend had a crisis, which lead us all to Plan D instead. I’m sorry that the crisis happened but I’m Thankful that Plan D happened!

Plan D included taking Thanksgiving dinner to a friend’s house and having dinner with them.
As a result, Thanksgiving 2021 will live in my memories as one of the best Thanksgivings ever!
We had 2 small Turkeys, stuffing, stuffing wreath, butternut squash, sweet potato casserole with toasted marshmallows on top, mashed potatoes (cooked in milk instead of water), salad, jellied cranberry sauce, homemade whole-cranberry sauce, chocolates, pumpkin pie, brownies and tiny chocolate chip cookies! Plus delicious espressos!

I froze cranberries and lemon slices into ice cubes for my friend to use in her sparkling water and named it Cocktail Ice!
She loved it!
The food was delicious and the company was hilarious.

Together, we turned a very stressful week into a fun holiday party for 4!!
I hope that whatever plan you ended up on, you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
