Bridgerton, Netflix

I love period dramas and comedies.

I usually love anything Jane Austin.

Generally speaking, anything in Medivel garb or empire waist garb, I will try!

Of course, my husband is not so much into period dramas (or comedies, for that matter) but will occasionally watch with me.

We put off watching Bridgerton because we heard negitive things about it, like gratuitous sex and poor acting.

After watching Derry Girls and loving the characters so much, we realized that the actress who played Clare Devlin, Nicola Coughlan, was in Bridgerton, so we decided to give it a chance.

Eloise Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington

We finally watched Bridgerton and we really enjoyed it!

The acting was really very good and I didn’t think there was any more sex in it than there is in any other grown-up show that you might watch on Starz or HBO Max.

The Duke and Daphne

In fact, I think if you survived Game of Thrones, you can handle the number of bare bottoms that you’ll see in Bridgerton.

As far as, bad language, there’s very little cussing.

The sets, scenery and costumes are wonderful and the characters are likeable – or not, as they are meant to be.

There’s plenty of humor to be found, as well as surprises!

Give it a try and let me know what you thought of it!
